Introducing My Debut Novel
Melody Kane is well-acquainted with monsters. She’s built a life and a career around seeking retribution against predators both human and supernatural, intent on ridding the world of the kind of men who took her best friend at only nine years old. Her body count and notoriety may have earned her the praise of a top-secret employer and a macabre reputation on the nightly news, but her drive to make prey of the predators has attracted dangerous attention from the realm of Death itself.
Aeron, a Reaper and one of Death’s oldest creations, isn’t meant to follow the human woman whose thirst for carnage rivals even his own. But over years of admiring her kills from afar, his connection to Melody begins to blur the line between watching and wanting. Though he bends the rules to cover for her crimes, even his powers cannot keep her from Death’s watchful gaze.
When Death orders Melody’s soul reaped, the eons-old soldier defies his maker’s command for the first time, thrusting himself and the alluring serial killer into unknown peril. But all is not as it appears in the supernatural realm. Death may want Melody, but for what purpose, Aeron cannot say. Unlocking their secret purpose will set off a chain of events neither can foresee- and threaten to tear apart two fractured souls at the very moment they’ve begun to mend.

Trigger Warnings
The Reaping of Melody Kane is a dark romance. I think I’m witty enough to make you laugh along the way, but read responsibly. This is a book about a female serial killer and the Reaper who is supposed to kill her, but stalks and claims her instead. The reader must take care of their mental health and not read if bothered by any of the following, but not limited to:
- Blood
- Biting, choking (the sexy kind and the not sexy kind)
- Harm befalling children (not explicitly described, and justice is served)
- Conversation with the recently deceased spirit of a child (again, trust me, justice is served)
- Torture (deserved and not)
- References to stalking and to sexual violence, (not depicted)
- Murder
- Disparaging remarks about religion.
- Disparaging remarks about law enforcement.
- Detailed, explicit sex scenes including but not limited to, rough sex, rough oral sex, demeaning, BDSM, genital piercings, choking, gagging, anal use of supernatural accessories during sex

About The Author
As a child, Tristan spent much of her time devouring books as if they were as vital to her survival as air.
In truth, finding adventure, companionship and solace between the pages of a fantasy book gave her a sure footing during many of life’s more tumultuous times.
A tea-loving, neurodivergent wife and mother, she decided it was time to put all the worlds she’d dreamed up on paper, so others could get lost within them.
Tristan’s degree in Psychology and personal experience with trauma are reflected in her writing. She will undoubtedly put both characters and readers through trauma. Similarly, the good she sees in the world is reflected as well; the “bad guys” will always get theirs, and the “good guys” will almost always get a happy ending. Good, of course, appears in varying degrees of gray within her books.
